First Car

How times have changed, in 1976 at the age of 17 I learnt to drive on a MK1 Ford Escort and being in Australia with low insurance bought an EJ Holden, three speed column shift about 2.3 litre.

Roll on to 2019, some things are still the same it doesn’t matter what sex you are buying your first car is a rite of passage, to some believe to adulthood; certainly once you’ve passed your driving test, you’ll be desperate to have your own set of wheels as soon as possible.

You’ll want something affordable, preferably cheap; it needs to be safe, reliable and easy to drive. Cheap insurance should be a priority along with potential running costs, economical on fuel with a low tax rate.

Think about insurance!! You should find that more companies will offer you a quote if the car is less than 10 years old and is fitted with a black box.

Do you buy new or used, purchase (perhaps with help from family), hire purchase or use a PCP plan? What gives you the best deal? for our opinion and options please see our finance page.

All of our cars come with a 6 month warranty and we are happy to offer you the opportunity to extend that warranty if you wish.
